Really good article, I'm going travelling at the end of the year and have been looking around the shops for a light weight pair of walking trainers. I've had some gore-tex boots for a few years but these will be heavy and are a bit worn now. I was originally wanting a waterproof shoe but reading the article has put me off, as my feet do get hot in my current gore-tex boots. I was tempted by the North Face hedgehogg but I tried these on and found them tight at the toes and loose at the heel, I didn't feel they supported my in-step (is that what its called, middle arch bit! heh) that well either. Will keep on looking, any reconmendations welcome, I think I might try a Merrell Chameleon...
