Hello All,

I spent last night in one, first time I felt that it was warm enough to swap from the Sleepwalker 2. It was "just right" without having to be worried about feeling cold, it doesn't have the same nice elastic of the Sleepwalker but for summer use it's probably better.

But just to let you know I'm a hot/warm sleeper this might help.

Hi Dave,

Just a quick question what was the temp last night at a guess?? becuse i am a hot sleeper as well.

Thanks

I used one on the Wasdale meet last July and was froze in it. OK, it was a wet, windy night but still...

Not used it since.

Bob and I both have an ultralight sleepy bag. TBH we got them principally to carry round for our ML thing as they were tiny when packed up.

Slept one night in them. Never again.

I've used mine all year round - a fleece liner and clothing are necessary in the winter, but it's fine down to about -5. More than adequate by itself for typical British summer weather at low level. Main advantage is the tiny pack size. Not as luxurious as down, but much more durable. Even with two years of heavy use it has shown no signs of wear or developing cold spots. Only £12 in a sale - absolute bargain.

I fail to see the point in carrying a 3-4 season sleeping bag AND warm clothing.

Maybe with a synth bag you need 3-4 season bag AND warm clothing!

I did...

'not as luxurious as down, but much more durable'.

say that again in a year

"much more durable. Even with twenty-two years of heavy use it has shown no signs of wear or developing cold spots"

erm, I have had a look on the web for the forcaste for Saturday night and I can't find out, so does anyone else know what the temprature was roughly outside East Grinstead on Saturday night. Sorry I can't be more help.

Oh and the reason for not having down is that I am allergic to it so I have no choice :-(

Hello All,

Thanks for all your help! just to let you no i just got one hell of a bargain!!! a tnf Blue kazoo for 50.00 new!!! (and no it was not from ebay)

Thats a fantastic bargain.I have read some excellent reviews of this bag.Well done but where did you purchase from?
Show/hide user stats
My sister needs a new bag and I suggested the Ultralite but would love to know where you can get the Kazoo for that money.

Well, it's obviously academic now, and I was in Cumbria rather than East Grinstead... but it happens that I was sleeping in an ME sleepwalker ultralight on Saturday night. I also just so happens that I looked at my watch, which has a thermometer, at 3am; it was 7 degrees inside the tent and I was nice and warm.

It felt absolutely freezing when I got up just after dawn, but I hadn't noticed the cold until I got out of the bag.
