Anyone got a Laserlarge 1?

If so, any good? Can anything so light stay up in more than a breeze?

I own a Laserlarge 1 and would strongly recommend it.

The first weekend I used the tent it was very wet and windy and I was worried about how the Laserlarge would cope. The wind was so strong that weekend that it flattened a number of tents forcing people to pack up and leave, but I had no such problems with the Laserlarge which proved itself to be both stable and waterproof in testing conditions.

Since buying the Laserlarge I have spent about ten nights camping out in it and cannot fault it. The only thing I didn't like was the tent pegs that Terra Nova supplied with the tent, but they are easy to replace.

Despite its light weight the tent is very roomy, I especially like the generous sized porch. I have cut the groundsheet of an old tent to fit the inside dimensions of the porch, it adds an extra 130gms onto the weight of the tent but allows me to use the porch as a living area :)

Interesting. I've got a 15-year-old Wild Country Trisar which weighs over 2.8kgs. It's still going strong and is very stable in high winds, which it needs to be when wildcamping in the hills. Trouble is the weight, especially as I wild camp with my son and am therefore carrying virtually all of the gear and food for two.

Space to weight in the Laserlarge looks terrific but I wonder about stability in a storm when there's not much shelter around. Were you valley camping or have you tried the Laserlarge in a good blow up in the hills?

So far I have just used the Laserlarge in the White Peak area of Derbyshire, when I was in the high winds I was at about 335m above sea level on an exposed field.

I am doing the Coast to Coast walk in September and plan on doing some wildcamping at a Tarn or two in the Lakes, so I will have a better idea then of its abilities at higher altitudes.

Thanks for the info. The tent definitely seems worth a close look.

Good luck with the coast to coast: let us know how you get on.
