If anyone owns one of these tents, can you let me know the length of the longest poles.

Looking at getting one for MTB touring and need to know how easy it will be to fit on rear rack/panniers.

It would also be nice to hear your opinions on how good/bad this tent is. Based on first impressions, it looks goos but I am a newbie (both to MTB and to camping) so I may be missing something that may be glaringly obvious to those of you that are more experienced.

hi billy
bought an epsilon 3 for mtb camping in the new forest and although not tested in the 'wild', have test erected a few times with the help of the kids. It looks v well made, looks good and is light enough (only just at 3.2kg) to justify taking it to sleep in by myself. The length of it packed down is 40cm (the poles themselves are fractionally shorter I think, but can check exactly if you want (as it's up the loft). It is also p*ss easy to erect in a few minutes flat. If you want really budget, v small 2 man tents for summer camping, my mate has a £40 eurohike backpacker tent which packs down tiny and he says why bother with a more expensive option. But for a value / mid range, the epsilon 3 (or 2) looks a good bet. Let me know if you want any more info.
cheers

Cheers for the info DH. After doing a little more research it looks fairly certain that I'll go for the Epsilon 3. It seems the best value for money and it sounds like it's a decent quality tent.

Glad to hear it's easy to pitch, haven't looked at a tent in 20 years so I might be a bit rusty.

How is it for size, do you think that it could comfortably take two adults and our gear? I know it is supposed to be a 3 person tent but I'm always a bit sceptical about manufacturers claims.

Thanks again, and I hope you get a chance to test your tent soon.

sorry for delay - been away with family. the width is fine for 2 adults and you can store some of your gear in the porch if you wish. the epsilon 2 would be a real 'cosy' fit for 2 if you get my drift, the epsilon 3 is a more realistic size and unless you are Geoff Capes, the sleeping arrangements should be fine.
regards
dh
