The strap on my Suunto Vector is about to fall apart and needs replacing pronto, I rather replace it with a fabric strap as the plastic one that comes with it is pretty naff. Anyone know of any suitable replacements please?

Same thing happened to my watch strap (it's not a Suunto, but similar). Every watch repairers I went into said it was a 'return to manufacturer' repair only.

I also want to get a fabric strap, but not sure if the manufacturers will do this.

Will somthing like Animal straps fit? Not having a Suunto I'm not sure what fitting they have.

I had a similar strap with my diving watch that died years ago. I just replace with a new velcro Animal strap every two years as they start to get tatty.

My watch has an unusual moulded plastic strap. By that I mean it is a weird shape where it connects with the watch. So it's not easy to just buy a replacement strap and get it to fit. Perhaps this is the case with the Suunto?

Yep, where the stap connects to the watch isn't quite the same as a normal watch.

F&T can get a Suunto strap for you. I got one for mine from their after sales dept

The Suunto straps are horrible though if you can get away with an Animal one.

A UK site might help. Try here for both kinds of straps

But it says that they sell velcro straps for all altimeters with a plastic case e.g. Vector....I'd rather get an Animal one cos then I can choose my own design.

You can get them here for £4.99 instead of £13 for the Suunto velcro strap.

Thanks all, I think Jeannie's £4.99 wins.

Ta again.
