I have a similar thing with my stormking tent - it seems to me that the outer sits too high above the inner. have to say that thus far it has not let in water or not had an impact in terms of cold/wind - but just think that it doesnt look 'right' when i set it u- have you had any reply from msr?

The Hubba Hubba is supposed to pitch like this. Seems to be the US style. I've not had any problems with rain getting into mine, and it has been out in moderately unpleasant weather. I have adjusted the pitch so one side was lower than the other to keep out the wind on one occasion.

Given that the Storm King has a solid inner, I doubt you need to worry too much. If nothing else, having the fly right down to the ground means you'll have ventilation issues, and that means more condensation! Have a look here at pics of another stormking pitched.

Serriadh.

Thanks for the reply - i thought that this must be the case but guess i have used to many old canvas vangos in the past (showing my age). the pictures you sent the  link to were very revealing - thanks again.

Clearance at the bottom gives more ventilation, which is good... unless it's cold.  A fairly straightforward case of "you choose, you lose"...

Yes it is a problem.  Tents are now available in Green.
