So what is this emblem?

Just curious does anyone know why that funny little birdie thing represents Paramo?

Maybe to do with where the High Paramo actually is, in South America one would think. It resembles the glyphs on the various temples at the cultures of the areas there like Tihuanacu, the Mayan kingdoms of Central America and the Andean Incan pre-Columbian civilisations.

maybe the bird in the logo is the Andean Condor, Vultur gryphus.
