Hi I'm due to replace my 3 season boots I've been using Salk on quest which although have been a fantastic boot the soles have worn out after about 2 years
Can anyone recommend a more sturdy boot that is light and sturdy

Two years doesn't sound too short a life for a pair of light boots to me. How much have you worn them?

Meindl softline ultras or any of the scarpa range .

FYI when you do get replacements, I've had fantastic footwear life extension by using Shoe Goo. I put some on the heel from new and periodically remove and reapply and it makes the sole then last as long as the rest of the shoe. Wish I'd been doing that decades earlier. I have used it on some Keen waterproof shoes, some Keen sandals and some Merrell Mocs and its working a treat, the sole wear tends to be more even and not just the heel wearing, the Goo wears down and is replaced. PS my shoes used to wear in a year now its more like 2+ years so if yours have lasted 2 years it could be worse.

I've seen all these glowing reports on moving to trail shoes on the "less is more" principsl, so I got some in a sale because I'm nervous they'll be too flimsy, and will be trialing them in next few months.
