Acancagua Jacket

ME Annapurna OK?

Planning a trip to Aconcagua later in the year. Seem to be able to get a ME Annapurna jacket for £150 at the mo. Will this be adequate? Some sites are saying Nuptse would be ok - others saying MH Absolute Zero Parka! Anyone with experience of this?

"Expedition Weight, must be fully baffled, have insulated hood, and go below the waist" seems to be a common theme...

Haven't booked yet.

Thanks.

Oops title typo - can't seem to edit that

ME Annapurna for £150 seems good to me.

A trip to Aconcagua, do you mean you are doing the actual trek to the summit? If so I would go for the Rab Neutrino Endurance jacket. Great warmth to weight ratio. And weight is everything if you are going a long way and its stuck in your pack.

Temped by that RAB  though the extra length on the ME would be useful.  the weight is a concern though I'll be doing pile/pertex so there should be no other layers in the bag.  Not sure if the Montane Extreme will be up to it on its own though...

Toxic,

If you go for the Rab, its on sale at www.rockrun.com

Consensus seems to be that the ME certainly won't be too cold...

Need to find an operator who understands pile/pertex as all the kit lists seem to be trad. layering systems.  Likely means a UK operator - which is good.
