It's the HH that concerns me for UK camping

Why? 

newer golites s have even less HH (1200mm) as do Tarptents and plenty other silnylon. (even MLD once I expect)

normal canvas has a HH of about a foot and it doesn't let rain through when used on tipis....

You're right Mole, I never checked CH's link but had 1000mm in my head from an old discussion. Just having another look and they do look a good buy.

I'm even tempted to sell off my last SL3 and get the big one

I think they look like good vfm, but the smaller one has a lot less space for 2 than a SL3 and the bigger one is too heavy to carry for 2. as a base camp though or for solo use I think they'd be worth a look.
