Berghaus Attrition

I'm about to treat myself to a decent jacket and almost talked myself into going for an eVent one this time, but today I laid eyes on the Berghaus Attrition 2 at Go Outdoors.

Anybody any experience of it ? It looks to have good venting along with a good hood and Pro-Shell has always been good to me in the past.

I've got one of the yellow ones reserved for me at the Wakefield store so I'll prolly go and pick it up in the next couple of days, unless anyone says to stay well clear.

Originally I was thinking about eVent, most likely a Latok or Superfly but then I talked myself out of it again.

Sorry if my ramblings are a bit muddled but I've had a long day

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Attritions are only 150 quid at Speedo in Nottingham.

got some pro shell berghaus jackets for 80 quid!

Thanks for that Nick

Do you know if they're the latest model or the 2008 version, if seen a few places selling the older ones off around that price.

the latest model 2011 version is totally different and not yet stocked by Go- Outdoors

The others are the same, in speedo they have the black, yellow and black, and the older yellow.

personally inspite the bright colour i would have the Temperance Jacket for 120 quid.

Personally i would mind the new pro shell lightweight smock , although i don't recon Berghaus haven't made a decent shell since the old Trango XCR which was a great coat.

I have a Temperance - it's got a better/easier to use neck/mouth area IMO than the Attrition. Ace hood and Works for me a treat. Been utterly abused this winter (and the last one) and no damage to report.

Well my resistance was weak and I went to Go Outdoors today and picked it up. Really taken a liking to it, I really like the styling and the features should be good enough for what I need. It doesn't pack up tiny but it does squash down to a decent size, small enough to slip under a pack lid etc.

This is the model I got, not sure if it's the latest ...

Thanks for the comments folks, looking forward to seeing how it performs in the Lakes next weekend, I'll try and remember to take some pics and make a few notes while I'm at it.

Just noticed Nick ...

When you go on the Attrition page on Go outdoors it's showing pictures of the old one, if you look at the third piccy that's the one I got, pretty sure it's the Attrition II

I have just bought the new attrition II for a six month world back packing trip which includes 10 days in the himalayan foothills, so i reckon it will be put through it's pace. Hope to update on my travels...
