Bought a Buffalo mountain shirt this week for this coming Aut/winter...got it for a good price, I love it.

Its a 40" (Medium), and I have a 40-41 inch chest. I really struggled to get a 38" on and off when I tried it and it was close fitting.....

The 40" came in the post the other day, and i'm just not sure if its sitting close enough next to my skin as it should be...mainly around the neck but seems okish everywhere else. Fits great on the shoulders and arms.

Any advice would be great, I have checked out other posts so sorry if some of you feel your repeating yourself.

Cheers, Tim

It feels spot on with a base or wicking layer underneith, but that defeats the object....maybes its just because im not used to being neked under a mid layer....

If it is only your neck that feels a bit loose, then a buff will solve the problem.
When you are toiling uphill, you will appreciate the extra venting at the neck area, then put the buff on when you stop generating heat.
If it is close enough fitting around the rest of your body, then you have a good fit.
The fit of Buffalo doesn't suit me, but the Montane Extreme does. But I prefer the pile thickness/weight of the Buffalo over that of the Montane Extreme.
It sounds as though you have a good buy. It is unlikely that you will ever find a perfect fit.

yeah thanks Eddie, you make perfect sense, and i am 98% happy with the fit. I did struggle with the 38" and it was close fitting, which made me doubt my current choice of size abit, I just want it to be right, especially with the type if system it is anyways. Like you said I probs won't ever find a perfect fit neways....the buff's new home will be in the chest pocket

Thanks for the advice. In the lakes tomorrow so might have a rapid visit to needlesports to doubt check the sizing and put my mind at rest.

Jacko.
