Camelbak shower

Has anyone used a Camelbak or other bladder for wild camping showers?

Had a search online, but can't find any third party attachments/valves to make a shower head to convert a bladder into a small hanging shower... Seems like a logical product and wouldn't be difficult to make.

I'm sure people do this - how have they been rigged up?

Ortleib make a water carrier for which you can buy a shower head. I know that it doesn't fit a Camelbak but it could be an option. This is their website. I agree that it would be good if manufacturers produced an add-on for conventional hydration systems.

Athough it's a different thing, I saw a thing at Billing Landrover show the other year, they had a 5gall ( perhaps) container on top of the roof of the cab with water in it that was heated by the sun and an attatchment with a showerhead on it, the water was fed by gravity, the set up ws aimed at foreign trips though. Not quiet what you are talking about though .

I'm sure that Platypus have a shower kit.

Thanks guys.

I saw some cheap shower kits on fleabay. They were black 20l plastic sacks with hanging hooks and a tube/showerhead, heated by the sun. As I'll be on the bike I need to keep kit to a minimum hence using the Camelbak.

I'll see if I can make a shower attachment myself. If I'm successful I'll post back with an update!

I have a 2L platy that had a small leak so fixed it as a shower.Coke bottle tops fit the platy just drilled small holes in one and fitted on, fastened  a loop of duck tape so it will hang up and it will do the job. No valve but not really neccessary.

How long does the shower last with a bottle top shower head?

Depends how many holes you put in the top but can do a four minute shower.Put the holes in with a large thick needle using a pair of pliers to force it through.A 35mm film canister pushed over the top does the same as a valve stopping the flow.
