Camelbak water bottle - leaking one way valve

Hmmmm... I have an original  Camelbak bite valve that also constantly drips unless I blow back into the drink tube to push the water back into the bag. So I use the "faucet" style Camelbak valve now with no problems. It's the blue valve W/ a yellow handle.

Even an early Gregory bite valve I had used to drip constantly. Ya gotta wonder, do they use customers for ALL their testing?

BTW, in winter I always have to blow the water back up the tube to keep the hose and valve from freezing. No amount of heavy neoprene hose insulation works after the first hour in frigid temps. But my new Camelbak Commander daypack has the insulated hose running inside the right shoulder strap. We'll se if that helps. I'm making a fleece valve cover with a pocket for a small chemical handwarmer. Might work. Then again there's Murphy's Law (and O'toole's Corollary - i.e. "Murphy was an optimist.")

OK, now I see the problem.  maybe it's a manufacturing glitch and not a design problem. Have you tried returning it to the vendor ror an exchange? If they give you a new bottle I'd test it right at the store.

my camelback leaks by itself even in an upright position.  It does it even more as it warms up a bit - and it doesn't have to be very warm either- 45-50 degrees is warm enough to cause it to "spit" fluid up through the mouth piece.  I have tried opening the bottle & draining the straw then putting the lid back on.  I have tried leaving the mouth piece in the open posistion - in the closed position - took the bite piece off.  Nothing seems to work.  And, now it seems to also be leaking around the edges (where it screws on/off the bottle).  I'm really frustrated with these bottles. I bought 4 - one for each of us in my family.  And they ALL have the same problem!  These bottles are not what they're advertised to be!  I'm going back to my other, cheaper H2O bottles!
