Changabang Issues

Interesting follow-up to a post from a few months ago. The original request was to try and find a ladies' w'proof for TOH. In the end she settled on a very manly Changabang in small that happens to fit her quite nicely, and was handily enough quite a reasonable price from Gaynor's clearance wing.

However, fast forward 6 weeks or so and the jacket has developed 2 holes on the inside! In the bottom outer corner of each "Napoleon" pocket what looks like a tear has appeared. The first one appeared on the jacket's first outing on dartmoor, and I berated her for carrying something spikey in the pocket then packing it away, as I assumed that was what had happened. Jump forward another month and an identical tear has appeared in the opposite side. She maintains since the first tear that nothing remotely hard has gone in the pockets.

The tears are not at the seam, but rather just inside, and it looks a very odd place for the material to fail. We're going to pack it off back to Gaynors in anticipation of it being sent back to ME for a warranty repair. Has anyone else seen anything similar on ME jackets? I'm part of a fairly large circle of friends who have various different types and I've not seen anything similar in anything of theirs or mine. This jacket is the 2010 model I believe.

Do the tears line up with the back of the zips I wonder?

Interesting thought other-John. I don't have the jacket to hand, but from memory and from taping it up last night, I don't believe so, but I'll pass the message along to TOH before she ships it back to gaynors.
