Custom waterproof maps for Corfu

Im going to Corfu in april and I have got hold of a map to use. As I found out quite quickly their maps aren't great, but it'll do. Im looking to try and get it coated to waterproof it and make it much more durable, cos I can see it getting wet or ripped quite easily. Does anyone know of any companies that do waterproofing like the type on OS active maps and the like on a map of your choice?
If I need to I'll just take a waterproof map case, but I still would mind it getting it laminated to make it more durable

Won't do much to prevent tearing, but Nikwax make a Map Proofer.

The only other option I'm aware of is Aqua3.

They laminate maps, but I've never used them to tell you if they're any good or not.

If it comes out like the os ones they sell that'd be a good option. You can do it yourself with a large roll of fablon. Probably quite expensive to buy, I used to do mine at work were we had loads of the stuff. If you do use fablon it is as good as professional stuff but quite difficult to get it neat without creases, particularly if the map isn't a flat sheet.

I have some maps that were laminated by aqua3. They're as good as any other laminated maps I've had though being a fair bit newer haven't been subjected to the same amount of abuse.

I've never managed to do any damage to an Aqua3 laminated map, and their laminate is a lot thinner than others you might come across. I've used their laminated maps as sit-mats!

Sellotaping along all the folds  of a paper map makes a lot of difference to durability.
