Hi
i love my primaloft gear but i am now looking for a down jacket for low intensity activity and in the evening while camping as it get a bit chilly on a clear night.
Can anyone recommend any womens jackets?
Thanks
Torchwood, this may (or may not) help. I have a Montane Extreme smock. If you read the blurb it is recommended that you wear it without any base layers. I wore one in early February with just a (Montane) Bionic T-Shirt underneath. It was minus 1 degree and I was absolutely roasting! I cannot believe just how warm it is.
This will certainly keep you warm and fit your purpose: you just have to make your own cost verses weight decsion.
I find down perfect for chilly nights whilst camping.
What size are you, torchwood? PHD designs have a couple of XS down jackets in their bargain box. I'm a 12/14 and fit into the PHD Small, so if you're a 10 the XS might do.
As usual, try on if you can. A lot of thermal efficiency is down to fit, which you want snug but not compressing the filling. A downie in super-duper 900 fillpower down that doesn't fit too well probably won't be much (if any) better than a 600 fp coat that fits properly.
Rohan have a fairly nice looking one in their bargain bin until Sunday: might be worth a look.
Pete.

You'd also need an extra 35lt capacity to carry it.
Great at what it does though.

Some Alpkit Filos left, for £95. Okay if you like black.
It's quite a warm jacket, so it depends how 'low intensity' you want, how cold you get, and what temperatures you want to use it in.
