Family Tent Choice

HI,

As mentioned in my introduction post I am looking to buy a new "Family" friendly tent this year to appease the missus who wants something a bit more comfortable and roomy than my Force10 Ascent mountain tent. 

I have been looking at the Outwell Nevada M as my local shop has it on offer now for just over 200 quid and it seems to tick all the boxes. It seems practical in that it has a proper sealed groundsheet and decent poles and it easy quick ish to assemble (according to the garb!.

 It satisfies my wifes need to be able to stand up in and have plenty of windows for light and enough storage space for all her stuff! haha

Has anyone had any experience with this tent and any advice?

Thanks for the tip I will check them out. Like to use my local shop outdoor action who are  good for tents and have the tent in just wanted some first hand experience of anyone who has/had one? Thanks for the info on the poles. There was one for sale on Ebay and the seller said they had broken a pole so wonder if thats fairly common then?

What a coincidence! Just this week I sold an as-new Nevada M

The reason I didn't advertise it here is that, as doubledee says above,  it is not the sort of tent that would usually interest OM-ers. Instead, I advertised it on  UK Campsites Classifieds  and it sold almost at once.

You will find loads of reviews of Outwell tents on the UK Campites website but FWIW, here's my opinion. Outwell is a reputable brand and the Nevada M is one of its most popular tents. The tents are well made and - within their market - competitively priced. The Nevada M is spacious, has good interior height, is light and airy, pitches easily and is fairly rugged as family tents go. It is heavy, though (can't remember exactly but about 20 kilos IIRC).  It would pay you to shop around as prices vary a lot.

and if it lasts for 20 years, it's chaeper than buying a (£50) tent every couple of years....though you don't get separate bedrooms..

Those are tents. Groundsheets with velcro flaps for firepits/cold pits. and stoves...

I want

If I had the cash and could justify it.
