Gas stoves shorter than a pocket rocket?

I just bought a Primus windshield thing which clips around the base of the gas cannister type stove to protect it from wind. Unfortunately my pocket rocket is too tall and the burner head sticks up well above the shield rendering it useless.

As I really like the shield I think a new stove is in order but which models are shorter?

Gas cans come in more than one height... are you using the shortest?

The size of the canister makes no difference, the shield clips onto the top so is always in the same place relative to the stove but is just further off the ground.

I realise that link states a couple of stoves which fit but they also told me the PR would be fine so I'm not convinced...

That windshield is an ok height with the Primus Micron. It's just too short for the Snowpeak Gigapower. Sorry, can't help with any other models.

Cool thanks a lot, I'll have a look at them...

Also perfect with the Vargo Jet-Ti, which is a cracking little stove ime -- but not sure if it's sold in UK atm.

You could look at the Karrimor X lite Ti stove at Field and Trek which is the same as the Hi gear blaze.
Weighs 48g. Height 68.5mm. Width across burner and pan supports 108mm. Its £16 which is a bargain.
I like it better than a pocket rocket as it has a wider flame spread so does not weld your food to the bottom of the pan.

I have the windshield and use the primus express with it.  Made for it. (both primus)

another point on the windshield is the flame from the stove must point up at the top and not out the side then up

Yes, brilliant stove and an excellent combo with the Primus windshield.

The Coleman F1 Lite is also a good fit, if I remember correctly.

Stoves that don't fit the Primus windshield include the Soto OD 1-R - too tall.
