So i've had my PocketRocket for a number of years now and was toying with the idea of swapping it for a Jetboil BUT after reading a number of posts, reviews etc i've now decided just to upgrade my mess tins for a solo cookset so i can keep all my cooking equipment in the 1 package.

Now, what i would like is your opinion on which one to buy from -

- MSR Titan kettle & Cup

- SnowPeak Mini Solo Cookset

- Alpkit Myti Pot & Mug

I know they are all pretty much the same BUT is there any real significant difference OR should i just buy the lightest ???

Thanks

Scott

I've used all of those at some point

All much of a muchness really. Only one I didn't like was the Alpkit but that was an early iteration and the lid didn't fit properly. (It rattled and drove me nuts)

I only ever boil water so I'm currently liking the Jetboil Sol Ti.

Hi mate,

I went down the Jetboil route, as I only use it for boiling water.

But soon changed to a lighter option.

MSR Titan kettle and the Hi Gear Blaze, 47 grs for the stove and 113 grs for the pot.

Hope this helps

The Evernew stuff looks really good -- absolutely top quality and supposedly made in Japan to the highest standards. Would have got some myslef if I didn't already have a Tibetan pot and MSR ti mug that do the job just fine and look virtually new after a lot of use.

If you're looking for something cheap and cheery, the Optimus Terra Solo Cookset is worth a punt. I think Blacks do/did something similar. Pretty light and does the job. Ditch the lid and use foil if you want to save a few grammes

I've got Evernew, Snowpeak, and Tibetan ti pots. The best quality/lightness combo appears to be the Evernew. My EN900 pot is looking good after many years of heavy use.

The Evernew stuff also looks brand new if you forget where you put it and then find it again many months later, as I did yesterday

Few sell it I think. UltralightoutdoorGear being one, BPL do too.

I bought most of mine in Japan and the US.

I got my MSR Titan kettle and the Hi Gear Blaze cheap from ebay.

The pot was second hand @ £34.00 and the stove was brand new @ £12.

Not bad I though.

Cheers Mac.
