Electrical tape round the rim will help.

Dunno about that, sorry, but I prefer a plastic mug to my titanium one as it's lighter and doesn't burn my lips.  And dirt cheap!  Maybe change?

Always carry an aladdin insulated mug

I don't burn my lips on my titanium mug but I used to with an enamel or aluminium one. You can buy a plastic lip thingy to go on the crusader mugs, try army surplus stores......or use a plastic one and let the drink cool as others have suggested!!

His lips are fine but His Akto fails

What GOF says. I use my Help for Heroes silicone wristband but it would be too much of a stretch for a 44 pattern metal mug. Mind you, I have to wonder why anyone would use such a mug.

hello Mal, where have you been?

what's a help for heroes silicon wristband?

This is one holding my Heiney pot in its clone.

It's a silicone wrist band produced to raise income for the the Help for heros charity. It can handle high temperatures without getting too hot itself,

That's the idiots guide.

Yes, i'm curious to know too.

Used a plastic mug for years, including over the tree line.

Gave up with tin mugs back in the Scouts, 'cause they scald one's lips!

"Doctor Doctor, it hurts when I di this!"; "Then don't do that..."

A tip is to mash the tea with half a cup of boiling water (similar with coffee) then top up with water less hot ,then no need to wait for it to cool down and less fuel needed to heat water.
