HS Outerwear

I purchased a pair of "HS Outerwear" stretch walking trousers and like 'em so much I want some more for general camping. Unfortunately the walking shop I bought them from only has limited sizes and stock left as they seem to be a spring/summer item.

I've searched the web but I'm buggered if I can 1) find any info on them and 2) anyone else who sells them.

Any of the gear experts out there that could enlighten me?

Cheers

Pete.

Hi there mate, good to see you back posting on the good old OM forum again here!A bit of a hard question to start off with though!

There is an answer I can immediately think of to give you. Not sure it will maybe exactly help too much though, but here goes anyway!

I do know of two companies selling such clothing kit lines, and that is sold in some outdoors outlets and online in the US,  usein the initials 'HS'. One of these is a brand name for a company that sells many different kinds of clothing, and belts and stuff too, so not just outdoors lines.

The other one sells mostly more outdoors intended use clothing lines - including a good deal of running/jogging kit. I've seen precious little of either companies stuff imported over here really, to be perfectly honest, in the South of the UK in recent years though myself. I do know that I most definitely have seen some in stores in the Midlands, Manchester area and too in Liverpool and Scotland too in my travels. Your best bet might well be searching out a US supplier online now; as the stuff you said that you had got was likely both end of range, and end of season stuff being cleared. I will try to look out some more info for you, but it will not be too easy I fear; as this is not really specialist outdoors branded kit essentially really, that we are talking of, if I'm at all correct here.

Sorry if I appear right now to be none too positive, about the prospects of helping you find what you're after here. But I think I did try to help a friend get hold of some of this clothing before, and failed misearably - but for finding a Canadian store back then I recall, that had a little bit of seasons end stuff in clearance. But none of that was in big enough sizes sadly, to fit the required bill.

The thing here that makes me think particularly that this might well be one of the brands I encountered in fruitless onine searching once before, is in the name you give there.

'HS OUTERWEAR' - You much more commonly tend to see that generic term 'outerwear' there used on labels in clothing lines intended originally for sale in the US and Canadian market predominantly I found before in my searches.

Thanks for the prompt reply Trevor.

After speaking to the shop (Rathbone's in Keswick) they import them from Germany. I asked what the HS stands for and it's "Hot Spot" (or "Hot Sport" as my hearing is going at my age ).

They say HS Outerwear is a popular make but I'm struggling to find any info on HS or Hot blah blah.

The only reason they say they have limited stock at this time as they've placed an order for the Autumn/Winter gear so won't be ordering any more of spring/summer stuff until around Feb/March.

So then, not the ones I suspected them to be after all, at all completely! Not 'HS' Trask, nor the cheaper import outdoors clothing 'HS Outerwear' label one in Canada either.Sorry then mate, seems I very nearly laid you down a false trail of search there.Good luck in your hunting for the required kit anyway. I will keep my eyes open for the stuff and let you know if maybe I see any in my travels online or elsewhere.

Thanks  for your efforts Trevor........... for all I know they may be the 'HS Outerwear' label one imported from Canada via Germany!!!!

Rathbones in Keswick is the only stockist I know of in the Lakes. I was in last week and they seemed to have a few in. Best contact them directly.

I have to agree with you though regarding quality. I bought a pair of zip offs last year and they are superb for all year round walking. I wear mine a lot for dossing around in too and will definitely be going back for another pair in the next few weeks. Did you knoew they also do a sort of 3/4 length too?

Sorry Mike, missed your reply from May

Actually I did buy another pair from Rathbones, got the beige and the green now............ although the price had risen slightly from when I got my green ones last year.

Might pass on the 3/4 ones though with my 'chicken legs'........... wife says I have a great pair of legs..... for a woman!!!

Thanks for the extra info Richard............ they really are great pants..... for me at least.

Hello Guys,
I know this post is a little out of date but i have been struggling to find a store that sell these and actually have stock.
I have found a company online and they also have a shop in West Yorkshire (perfect for me) so you can try them on if required so i thought id let you all know since this thread had helped me in my quest, they are called Sporttek.
And if they dont fit or you dont like them all you need to do is post them back and they will give you a full refund/exchange.
Its nice to see a company that is willing to help the customer these days!!
Thank you!

This wouldnt fit on my previous post but thought you might find it useful; I asked about the brand name and was informed that the company is called ‘Hot Sportswear’ however the have recently been having problems registering the 'HS' logo as there is another company called 'HS' so they have now changed their logo to 'HS2H' but most UK retailers are still using the 'HS Outerwear' name to allow people to find the right trousers. The lady at the shop told me about this as the logos on the trousers have changed so she informed me that even though the logo is different the trousers are not copies of fakes and offered the contact details of the UK representative if i wanted to back this up. They still do have some stock with the old logo however as new stock is delivered they are being replaced with the new logos.
Anyway, i am now the proud owner of 3 new pairs of HS Outerwear trousers, a pair of summer trekking trousers, a pair of waterproof trouser and a pair of winter trousers and because i ordered 3 pairs the lady gave me free next day delivery!
Thank you again!

Thanks for the update Claire.

I purchased a couple of more pairs a few months ago from Rathbones of Keswick, they didn't advertise them on their website but when i rang they had loads in stock (and all colours) so sometimes it's worth the effort to ask

UPDATE: Just checked Rathones of Keswick website and they're still only advertising womens HS trousers!
