Cool, but don't Nemo not do something like this?

Hi Tg,

I know that Nemo inflatable rents don't fair well in snow.

Heimplanet tents not exactly news, though.  See old thread.

And yes, Nemo and many others do air-beam tents.

There is, of course, a difference between coming up with a viable alternative for certain situations and making something obsolete...

That's the Heimplanet. It's more of a super cool surfer dude tent than a viable alternative to a geodesic mountain tent. Goes up super fast with a single inflation point and looks ace in a space-age sort of way.

The best bit is the inter-connected tubes which means you need only a single inflation point, unlike Vango's AirBeam system where each beam has to be pumped up individually. The beams are isolated after inflation with valves, so if one fails, it doesn't mean the whole tent collapses.

As mentioned on the earlier thread, probably a kite surfer dude tent, since it appears to use the same technology as the leading edge of a kite surfer's 'foil.

The air beams should be inside the flysheet, though; I guess it wouldn't look as cool...
