What do you get if you cross a billy boiler and a battery pack?

Love the concept, though a bit bulky for my use.

Wow, now thats interesting!

I'd like to know what charge times are i.e. how long would it take to charge a dead smartphone battery to fully charged for instance.

At about £80 I reckon its worth a punt..... If I get one I'll report back.

charge times and Ma current would be nice to know but you can try and guess it to at least give an idea of charge times:

if the capacity of a smart phone is 1200mAh
charging current is 400ma
it would take 3.6 hours to charge the battery

my math could be off though i used I = W/E to work out the current charge rate not sure if it is the right calculation for usb power output.

2w / 5v - 0.4ma continious
4w / 5v - 0.8ma peak maximum

so minimum 3.6 hours, but probally less than that up to half.

just to add its a really good idea, but the weight is an issue, i could take 40 batteries for my phone and still be well under the weight of the stove.

That idea's been around for a good few years.  A lad I know has a wick hurricane lamp with a similar device in the top - from China I think

Kind of interesting but doesn't it take at least a few hours to charge a phone safely without damaging the battery? Who runs a burner for that long?
