Simon, there's also a classified section on the site, but I'm b*ggered if I know where it is these days... I'll let you know if I find it.

Yes, that's right... Well hidden eh, but strangely logical.

To be honest, I don't visit the classified section. Perhaps a link from the forum might encourage me and others to give it a go?

hmmm I've just noticed the Classified section too and posted something. Sit back and see what happens now I guess.

Maybe after seeing this thread more people will go and look?

Well don't all rush at once

I've had stuff in the classified section...but it did take me ages to find a link to it too!!!

This site should revolve less around the forum than it does. It's good that we talk, but we should do more different stuff like the classified, or the gear review or the... member search. Or even get out more!

Ah but I am spending Easter weekend at home mending things to avoid the crowds.
The pleasant campsite that I was at last week turned into the M1 on Friday and I was glad to escape.

Andrew, some of us do check out the other bits of the site. It's just that you can't tell when we're doing it. I consult the member reviews: useful and often entertaining, and I'd like to encourage everyone to do your bit and add whatever you can. Richard Gear is also a fount of outdoorology. Even if he doesn't realise that you can buy a rectangular 3 season sleeping bag in Argos.

I think that Joan's right...If you keep an eye on the User Reviews you often see lots of names there that DON'T appear on the forum.

I think that an active forum is much better than a dead one. I know that if I ask a question I'll get a reply to it for someone. Just try asking a question at Blue Domes Forum...yawn!

There's loads more going on here than just the Forum...I've met loads of people from here (and even been out walking with them...in fact some of my best hill days have been with other OM members).

Sir and I often trawl through the gear reviews if there's nothing else to do, they are extremely interesting. The classifieds are hard to find and not well used so I usually forget to look there....

...and we have met some OMers in the flesh and as Alex says, they are very nice! (even that strange Ford character!! ;0))
The news articles are also interesting and I always check them out.

Well the news & features are what I started coming here for, and I still do! The Forums are interesting and fun, and I post reviews where I can, though as my kit purchasing rate has declined (thank od says the bank manager) I don't put many out or read them much now.

Back to the classifieds.....

Jon / Sal.... Any chance of having a word with your developers to get them to include contact details in the classifieds when you view them through AvantGo????

"AvantGo" I hear you say?

It's the software that lets you view the OutdoorsMagic News, Reviews, etc... on those hand held thingies (Handheld OM)..... Among other things.
