I bought a pair of these today, X-Lite Carbon Trekking Poles only mine cost £29.99 from Sports Direct. The stated weight is 190g each and although they felt quite light in the shop it's always difficult to know for sure. Good news, they actually weigh 200g each complete or 190g without the rubber tip protectors. They feel fine, workmanship looks ok, the lever locks work and the handles are comfortable with easily adjusted straps.

I'm well pleased with them given the price.

My disappointment with the pair I have is that they have no anti shock mechanism which I suppose goes some way to explain the light weight.

To be honest I doubt you'd get sub 200g trekking poles with anti-shock at any price.

How did your Karrimor poles do? Any problems?

As far as I can recall I paid ??24 from Karrimor some time ago but the delivery was from Sports Direct along with a pint tea mug.
I particularly wanted poles without anti shock.
I'm very pleased with them, they have performed well and are light and well balanced
Would definitely recommendt them, in fact I told a friend about them and he bought a pair and then several of his friends who tried his for weight also bought them.

Just spent a long weekend with old UKC friends, one of whom was using these and very happy with them. I should have had a closer look myself, but I trust his opinion.

They have flick-lock mechanisms, rather than twist lock; many people prefer this. The mechanism has adjustment screws.

Yes, I should have mentioned the flick lock mechanisms which, in freezing conditions in the Peak District, I did operate without having to take my gloves off.
The locks did keep the sections locked absolutely tight.

i have these poles and think they are great, would not go back to twist locks after using these.
