All,

I've produced a new issue of the enabling patch for MMN Version 4.2.4.

MM released 4.2.4 at the beginning of this month, the main change being support for the Garmin USB interface (see changelog below).

For latecomers and those who missed the first issue, here is a recap of what the patch does:

1. Enables use of OS and A-Z maps of any year of issue (this previously needed a hex edit to every map to circumvent it).
2. Enables direct printing at any size (the OS enforced a limit of A4 which could only be circumvented by a cumbersome Printer driver).
3. Enables use of products artificially excluded by the OS (not the same as #1).
4. Enables Import & Export of marks & waypoints from a CSV file (the CSV facility is at least partially available in 4.2.4 but there is still check-code in there which the patch skips).
5. Enables Import / Export of ESRI Shape files.
6. Enables use of Memory Map API.

The usual drill - email me for a user/pass, using either the email above or the Contact page on the site http://v-g.me.uk

Changelog: MMN 4.2.3 to 4.2.4 (from MM website)

Added: Support for Garmin USB interface
Revised: Installation process to improve Windows XP compatibility
Revised: Printing to fix occasional issues for W98 & Printer Settings file location
Fixed: CSV / Index import with misplaced "
Fixed: Map List file size for maps larger than 2Gb

Just an update for everyone.

I've just installed Memory Map 5.1.1 build 705 - available here.

Geoff C has made a patch available as described above. I've installed it and it works a treat. (Thanks Geoff). Email him for the userid and password.

Either of you guys know how to control the size it prints waypoint labels at? They used to be huge and obliterate map detail, now they are tiny and almost invisible.

I have a nasty feeling that this might be an OS enforced limitation. Stupid but there you go. Grough route certainly has the same limitation.

Not all lost though, because it should surely be possible to print it out to 4 separate a4 pdf files and stitch them together in some graphics program before printing?

Hi, I'm still trying to find a patch for printing A3 in mem map. I've seen the link John put up but i'm not sure if this would support my version 5.4.2 build 1089. If there is anybody out there who knows what they are doing (as I clearly do not), please give me a shout and point in the right direction. Thanks

Just looking at those patch notes, and especially this: "(the OS imposed a limit of A4/Letter for UK maps and A3 for IGN maps)" I wouldn't be too massively hopeful of there being a general purpose patch for it.

Trying to contact memory map direct would very likely be a good idea. If there isn't an offical patch for it (as it's a purposeful limitation) then I guess could try that patch to see. Back up your map data first of course!
