Does anyone use this?

Any thoughts?

Many, many times with the original Krypton*. Worn with a L/S Lowe Alpine Dryflo to be precise. I never wore it on its' own, as Montane intended btw. Great cold weather combo.

Bit of a bugger to take off and the static could be ferocious but well worth it IMHO.

Actually, I liked the original Krypton so much that I bought 2 because I knew that Montane would inevitably drop it. And they did.

I'm sure Nigel will be along soon with a more in-depth (and life-sapping/anal-retentive) analysis

*I can't be arsed looking up the spec's of the new Krypton so this may be of absolutely no help whatsoever

Thanks Kev, i was thinking of teaming one with a Patty capilene 3

That would almost certainly work. Like I said, I can't vouch for the newest version but the old one is a cracking bit of kit.

Although you can get pretty much the same setup with a base layer/thin fleece/pertex windshirt.

...i was considering doing the same, merino base with a Krypton to replace my current Vapour Rise with Litespeed.

The Kryptons IMO are very similar to the Marmot Driclimes which i used for years with an Icebreaker merino and it worked really well.

love mine (the current version)...but not this time of year..it`s surprisingly warm. From Oct to April it`s all you need, unless it`s chucking it down. I just vary the base layer depending how cold it is..

If you`re thinking of buying watch the sizing, they`re close fitting..even for Montane

Thanks Wrenny, i'm usually a Montane XL so up a size you think?

Hard to say. I`m a skinny wretch and Montane small is usually fine for me. I got a Krypton in small, body and arm length are fine but it`s a little snug on the body, i would probably get a medium if i bought another one.

I once nipped round me mums on my bike wearing it and she said i looked ill...

No such issues with the original Krypton but then I had to go up a size just to get the arm length. It's an over-the-head job tho' with no side zips so it couldn't ever be too slim-fitting.
