Anyone have any Feedback on the new Montane Daypacks especially the MEDUSA 32 interested in the materials durability and the comfort of the back system features etc

Well comfort depends (on who's using the rucksack.). Durability no one will know yet, because even fairly 'fragile' rucksacks tend to last a fairly long time.

As with any rucksack, try it, ideally with a bit of weight in.

Especially so with the Montane packs as they have fixed back lengths.  The Medusa is about an inch too long for me and consequently quite uncomfortable.

Have you had a look at the OM review here ? It was also reviewed in the July 2012 issue of Trail, where it gained the Best Value award. They seemed to think that it was an excellent, well designed pack although some may prefer a stiffer back.

I've seen both looks great, I don't need it just fancy it already have an osprey talon 33 , Deuter guidelite 32 ,crux ak37 however like the colour and the features and the weight, no sorest in Glasgow seem to stock it to have a wee play

I got one in April. Really pleased with the fit and function of the back. Been very good in wet weather and the 'buddy pocket' on the lid is quite helpful.

However, I do have a few gripes. The clips on the hip belts are a little flimsy. If you don't loosen the tension on the strap before unclipping you will snap the side of the insert clip. To be fair, when I raised this with Montane they were very understanding and sent a replacement out in the post straight away with no questions and at no cost.

Secondly, after a weekend in the Lakes I noticed where the straps had torn (maybe about 0.25cm?) where they join to the top of the pack. Maybe this is the result of swinging the pack on to my back when fully laiden, rather than more carefully placing it. Maybe, given that it seems to be directed as a 'fast and light' type bag, its just that you need to handle with more care. I've not experienced this with my old Berghaus pack, but then that was half as heavy again.

So - in short, very good, functional pack. Long term robustness yet to be seen.

Brilliant Tim
That's wot i was after someone who has actually got the pack, I've got one ordered for ??60 so can't argue. buddy pocket hip belt pockets and colour looks excellent
Was a wee bit worried about durability at 900g. Guess I'll need to take care to get it to last

Not especially The fabric is specified plenty tough and 900g is far from the point where a 32l sac is sacrificing strength for weight.

Straps tearing there will inevitably happen over time of course as it's under serious strain so often, but to have it happen that fast suggests a minor manufacturing fault. Happens everywhere of course, likely one off, and should be quite fixable.

As for people's experience, well it's safe to assume that they've got it as it fits them. That doesn't help you too much unless they're your body double Hope it does fit you of course.
