Montane Mountain Fury Tights

Slim cut trousers - advice

Mountain Fury Tights by Montane; has anyone bought a pair of these? They look more 'tights' than trousers; how tight actually are they? The reason I ask is that I bought some Haglofs Kazoos a while ago. Very slim cut, almost 'tights'. I'm worried that I'll wear them out; I don't think I've had a walk without them since buying them. I love them. All my regular cut trousers now seem baggy and flappy; to the point that I can no longer get on with them. Slim and tight it is for me from now on (anytime outside of Winter); I find it so much more comfortable without the excess fabric annoying me. My regular trousers aren't even all that baggy, Montane Terra Stretch/Haglofs Mid Fjell/Haglofs lightweight Climatic etc. So I've looked at the Montane tights as an option. I can't buy anymore Kazoos (hen's teeth), Haglofs intense pants are similar but I don't like the colour (shallow; I'll grant but there we go....).

Any tips? Anything similar in cut to the Kazoos? Any others tight and stretchy (I've looked at Ron Hills but didn't like them a bit 'tight' (for me)?

Thanks in advance and best wishes.

paramo stretch pants? (not particularly stretchy IMO) Not as stretchy or tight as Ron Hills. (but then Ron Hills aren't skin tight on me either)

very good under over troos/damp conditions due to the directional fabric.  Not very windproof.

Briefly tried a pair of the fury's recently - they're tight. (as advertised!)

Various relatively right cut trousers about, unsure quite how the relate to Kazoos.

Might be worth considering going for outright tights with some sort of thin shorts over the top for the odd pocket, respectability etc?

Thanks to both of you. I'll have a look at the paramo; the OM review is good. they look as though they are try before buying due to the fit. Be handy under lightweight waterproofs as well. The Furys do look tight; I'm tempted to find a pair to try, I could just wear them at night... Could you suggest any tight cut trousers? I may have been hasty in dismissing Ron Hill's range. They have quite a few more than Tracksters these days. Mostly running trousers which look interesting.

Haglofs Lizards and MEs javelins perhaps? A little bit heavier/more expensive than Kazoo's of course.

The Paramo stretch are heavenly to wear in the hills!

I've a pair of Mountain Fury tights for trail running and they are most certainly running tights with a close fit to say the least - my 34" waist just fits into the Large size and in retrospect perhaps I'd have been better getting the XL.I have some Montane Terra stretch trousers also which are more like track suit bottoms - maybe something with a bit of stretch in the material is the way to go?

Update: everyone can leave their seat's edge. I bought a pair of Montane's Fury Tights. Large were very tight, almost spray-on tight, too much so. Extra-large are fine. More give around the thigh, plenty of room at the waist. I think that the fabric makes them feel less like tights than I imagined. Very pleased with them so far. By way of a bonus; as I removed the tags I found a very useful pocket at their thigh that I didn't know they had.

Thanks to all for your help.

I just got a pair today. First impressions are good. I have a Small pair, which feel tight but fine. The Cordura fabric feels good - comfortable and tough enough to withstand days out in the mountains.

I too found the thigh pocket while removing the tags!

I'll be using them at the weekend in Snowdonia and will report back.

I've been using the Mountain Fury tights for about 3 months now, in mountains and in running around Hampshire hills and fields, and I like them! The material is thin and smooth, and while they don't immediately feel as warm as a pair of tracksters, say, the windproof fabric feels comfortable in the dry and sheds water quickly in the wet. They are a tight fit, but not excessively so. I find them an especially good fit around the ankles, with the zip closures keeping them nice and trim.

I'm not sure I agree with Miko about sizing.  I have a 32" waist and short legs, and a Small is a perfect size for me, as one might expect.  Maybe Miko has chunkier thighs than me!

Methinks it's my bum that looks big in them! Went for a 5miler last night in them, the first in this half of the year, so autumn must be here! I have to repeat my liking for them and if funds permit would buy in XL also as a pair of sleek and fast hiking trews

I love mine. Probably the best buy of the year so far. I can't imagine walking in any other legwear these days. I bought a second pair when they were reduced further. I'm looking at extending their use further in to Winter by layering some Powerstretch or thin Merino leggings or 3/4 length shorts underneath them. I can't work out what makes the fabric so good. Windproof, quick drying, very durable. They are superb.
