After a new down jacket and seem to have slightly got fixated on Montanes North Dtar jacket! Seems perfect for uk winter conditions but just after views from people who've actually used/got one. Cheers!

I have one. Large. Like it. Best fit for the weight range of down jackets I tried on.

Long body with good waist and hem drawcords. hood good . DWR good.
Though long, has a slim cut (arms too) compared to other brands size L. IMO

can't comment much warmthwise as that is subjective, I use mine above freezing in camp. Glad to have it in Scotland in May!

Dont like the velcro cuffs ( like those on a full on waterproof ) unnecessary IMO. Simple lycra would be fine. Sleeves could be longer (I am a gibbbon;))

Chest Pocket unnecessary for me.

Hood rolled up is a bulky collar!

I have couple of montane bits in large and they fit me spot on, I usually hover between medium and large so montane large works good for me. Im not too bad cold wise compared to most so sounds like this would be ideal for me, I don't think I'd need anything heavier. How do you find the water-resistant shell? Thanks for the info btw!
