I havent got one, but I think its made by Mapleleaf (or, to cover all bases, Kovea)- apart from that, cant help..

There are lighter stoves of the type (I've got one), but not at that price. Small burner head, maybe a bit on-off in terms of output; steel legs will get hot quickly and take a long time to cool down; looks a bit high relative to its width - stability issues? But really, at that price - why not take a punt?

It looks like a liquid fuel stove that someone's bodged a gas feed onto - why the preheating cup at the base? If it is a Fire Maple, it's an older discontinued model.

Not sure if I agree with the liquid fuel bodged to gas only diagnosis - the "pre-heat" cup appears to provide neccesary support to the legs via a flange.

regardless...as the man aid, worth a punt

Happy coincidence, maybe - I can think of lighter & stronger ways of bracing a leg support that doesn't involve something bearing an uncanny resemblance to the preheating cup on my old Whisperlite...

On the other hand...

Having used a Fire Maple daily for four months over the winter, I'm happy that's a better quality proposition, so I'll be using this one for the time being, see how it goes...

MW. That looks a very interesting stove/weight. Please could I ask if you have any information about where it might be on sale today? Many thanks. MM

It's not available in the shops, I'm afraid, but I may be selling a couple of slightly heavier (146g) versions on Ebay at the beginning of July (pictured below).

So far so good. I've used it at well below zero, but that was above 3000m so I can't comment on how it'd work in cold UK conditions. Another stove I have from the same company (same burner head & feed valve, different design of preheat tube) was very good last winter in cold Scottish conditions.
