Lowe Alpine replacements...

I've got some very knackered, light (153g), powerdry (I think), Lowe Alpine tights. Always a favourite (lasted around 8 years) but now needing replacement.

I'm after something stretch, not 'tight' tights - and very light, 'normal' powerstretch for instance will be far too warm.

I used to hate Ronhills with a vengeance (go all flappy around the legs when wet and the fabric was gopping)...any better now? Or alternates?

Haglofs perhaps?

Not liking the Max Wall look myself, I've not tried the Intense Tights, but the Intense Pants are excellent, stretchy but relaxed cut, very light but handle a wide range of weather conditions.

Foxwear has lightweight powerstretch (even though he keeps calling in powderstretch!).

Thanks Matt, Lemming (can't see much of that range on sale in the UK?).

Skip; It comes as no surprise that you had sites of that ilk to hand.

Rons are a bit of a liability when they're really thoroughly soaked, but anything less than that and IME they're fine.  In dreich and drizzle they tend to dry out about the same speed they get wet.  And they're cheap and easy to find to try on.

They re-did them a year or two ago, haven't tried the New! Improved! ones so don't know to the extent they're, errr, new or improved...

Pete.

I would imagine a pair of Montane Fury tights would be a bit too tight, judging by the girl wearing them outside of Moot hall the other week.....

What Matt said. I've been using a pair of Haglofs Lynx for the last 2 years or so. Not especially light as such but emminently wearable. eg from a cold and rainy NI in March to July in Majorca.

Aha, I see what you did there Haven't been yet, Ed. I'm still waiting on Bedders coming back to me with itinerary ideas etc.

Btw, I also wore them in Glencoe back in March but I don't like to brag
