I know Brasher boots are serviceable and re-solable but what about the salomon contagrip soles? Can these be replaced? I ask because I look after my boots better than most and tend to wear them all the time so the soles go long before the boots are dead. What makes can and can't be done?

Just spoke to Feet First - www.feetfirst.resoles.co.uk
they say no problem, they can resole Salomon boots using the original Contragrip soles. They have a list of brands on their site, or at least on my browser, a space where the list should go...

Shoecare basically say, on their site -
www.shoecare.co.uk/
that they can resole any make of boot.

I've used Feet First a couple of times, once for rock boots, twive for walking boots and had no problems.

Hope that's some help.

Great, thanks jon. I'll have a looksee at their site today. I've only really had cheapo fabric boots and leather ones with obviously replaceable soles in the past, so throwing out a 100 quid pair of boots after 6 months sounded a bit painful.
