Preferably the same style as the Easton ali nails.

TIA.

hollow and fat?

I have some Vargo ones - they work ok!

For the side guys for the Scarp Mole, so hollow and fat would work, but i'd ideally prefer something minimalistic but useable, just in case they're needed.

I'm happy with the 6 Eastons supplied for the main pegging points, plus i have 4 TN 1g for the mid point tie outs, so 2 ti nails for emergency use, though i may go for a whole new set of 12 if they are light and useable.

mid point tie outs on a Scarp? On the fly hem?mustbe an added extra? not on any of the ones i've seen before. Or am I confused and you are talking about the lifter which can be guyed using a pole?

I take 2 y pegs an 2 ti nails. apart from the 6 supplied eastons. Ys weigh the same and better in soft ground than ti nails.cheaper to. clamcleats do both i think.

didnt realise those 1 g pegs were for actually using

Vargo nails or Hilleberg stingers, nothing to choose between them except price (I've snapped both in frozen ground, but it takes some doing). Replace the short, badly tied cords with longer pieces and nicely dressed Fig 8/9 knots.

I use Vargo's and copy what Mole carries pretty much.

Mid point on the fly's length, between the central pole and the ends Mole, both sides, and yes, on the hem.

You have to add your own guys but they are there, on mine at least, so 4 TN 1gr pegs for them will do at a push.

Those Vargo nails look just the job.

Cheers.

Mid-points....I wonder why, it's a clam as it is.

Those 1g pegs are utter shite twiggers; you'll learn.

Hmmmmmmm, am i missing something here. ?

I've the same clams(?) at mid points equidistant from the main pole on both sides of the fly hem as found on all the main guy points, this isn't standard. ?

It's certainly no bodge job and looks  like Henry (or an employee) sewed them in there very profesionally when it was built. !

It does pull the fly out at a strange angle if you use them, but i can see their worth.

Oooo, mine does not have those; can't see the utility... yet...
23/04/2012 at 07:28
added extras! wonder if the original owner specified and paid extra for those?

its not a mod which I.ve considered. I find the lifter most useful (to reduce akto style flapping/roof bowing)

... i've never seen a Scarp with mid point tie outs either...

I carry Vargo UL TI Nails from ULOG as well.

I bought it from TMM our friendly tent trader, maybe he could elaborate on it's history, if he's not shot down for contributing.

For the record, I'M MORE THAN HAPPY WITH THE DEAL and couldn't give a shit if he sourced it from China, Nepal or fleabay.

Mine came with mid point tie outs as standard.  Purchased from Tarptent in 2009.  Always used them in bad weather too.

Forget that, just looked at the pic, and realised I didn't have those mid point tie outs!

Only just woke up and thought you were referring to the mid point tie outs on the pole hood

In that case.....
