Rucksack for running and walking

Replacement for Macpac Tekapo 25+

I've been using a Macpac Tekapo 25+ rucksack almost every day for 7 years, for running to and from work, and also as a mountain day-sack. It's finally starting to fall apart, but it seems that Macpac no longer sell a direct replacement.

What I want is:

- Comforable for both running and walking. The shoulder straps need to shaped so that they don't rub against my neck when I'm running.

- Robust. I will be using it every day, so a lightweight running rucksack probably won't be tough enough.

- Capacity of about 25 litres.

- Drawstring closure at the top, with a flap to cover it. I don't trust rucksacks with zip  closures for the main compartment.

- Ideally, a mesh pocket for drying clothing.

- Chest strap to keep the shoulder straps in place when I'm running, but a hip belt is not a requirement.

Any recommendations ?

Might be worth contacting Aiguille Alpine if you want tough. They'll leave bits off or add extras on as you require.

Could go with the macpac amp, especially if you've had good luck with macpac before (but don't know how much they've changed designs since yours).

'tis a shame you're not after a Macpac Tekapo 35, I've got one in the cupboard

OMM make fine running/walking sacks, they're worth investigating but maybe not super robust.

I have an Osprey Talon 33 and it is a lot tougher than you'd think for a lightweight bag, it's also cavernous. The 22L version is very good too.

I use an Osprey Stratos 26 for day trips as well as an Exos 58 for backpacking - both excellent bits of kit with drinking bladders.

The Talon doesn't have a draw string or a flap.
My Talon 22 isn't the best at keeping water out, even when it was new.
