Shortening waterproof trousers?

I am looking for some really light waterproof overtrousers in a shorter leg length. I am wondering if it is possible to get something like a pair of Montane Minimus trousers and have them shortened. Obviously this is not a trivial piece of engineering as it would be necessary to shorten or replace the zip or move entire zip up.

Does anyone know anyone who undertakes this kind of work?

Sounds like the sort of thing Lancashire Sports Repair would do. Worth asking them anyway.

Just checked and looks like they do "from £42" though. I know Berghaus do paclite pants in short leg lengths if that's short enough...

just go to your local seamstress.

OK, the alteration may not be taped, but you can that for yourself.  Last zip I have replaced in a jacket cost me £15 including the zip
