Just back from France annd notice a small rip of about 5mm on the base of my golight pinnacle rucksack. Is there any simple way to patch it?

thanks

Errr, with a patch...

If you've nothing suitable you could probably get a fabric sample from someone like Point North and then just sew it on.  If you don't trust your needlework a local mending/altering service should be able to do it cheaply.

For  5mm rip you could probably just darn it, using a tough thread to close the hole and hold it together.

Pete.

For belt and braces approach spinnaker repair tape and stitching is the way to go, stitching it will require some acetone or similar as the needle gets covered in glue.

For a rip that small I'd probably use Seamgrip. Put a bit of tape on the inside of the pack covering where the damage is then just put a thin layer of Seamgrip on the outside where the hole is. Let it set for a day and job's done.

Thanks

Going to try the tape and seamgrip first
