Snugpak question

Hi,

I'm looking for a couple of sleeping bags for myself and my good lady.

I have searched through the forum and can't help but notice the love for the Alpkit bags.  Unfortunatley they are out of our price range.

We are looking for a 3 season bag with the intention to use in a tent on campsites as a base for hill walking and I'm looking to spend £30-£40.

I have come across the Snugpak Laponie 350 which should keep my wife warm on the colder nights as she does sleep cold.

Does anyone have any experience of these bags or recommend something reasonable in my price range?

What Diddy said. I've got a couple of Snugpak bags and I can't fault them tbh. Pretty low maintenance too; The Boy brought one home last weekend and it was stinking of diesel (he'd chucked it in the boot of his car on top of an empty fuel can). Into the washing machine at 30c with some liquid soap and it came out as good as new.

A down bag would be the height of luxury for car camping but you'll not go far wrong with synthetic.

If you're car camping, then go for cheap stuff, and take the duvet off the bed for extra warmth if you need it. If you're new to camping, then whatever you decide to sleep on, it's also worth getting some closed-cell mats (like karrimats) or some nice blankets to put on the floor of the tent and give you some insulation from the ground.

We've been car camping for the past two years but realised you can go too cheap and yes the duvet has had to be used lol.
