I'm looking for a new soft-shell I've been looking at the new Rab Scimitar jacket but there are no reviews yet
Has anyone tried this jacket

Its a very nice jacket, I bought one just before easter and wore it most of the weekend in the lakes (before it really started raining).

It's very comfortable a combination of the the two fabrics works well (more hard wearing on the shoulders and hips). Its very stretchy as well which is good if you're looking at it for climbing.

Fairly wind and water resistant so IMO, a good allroundner. I managed to get for around £90 using Go Outdoors' price match as it's on sale at Beyond Extreme for £102 which is cheap than Go Outdoors' £108.

RAB actually even give really extensive fabric info on their website now. Air permeability (3-5 CFM main body and 3.5 in the shoulders) definitely seems to be around wind shirt levels.

Fit a definite unknown of course so try it. Just maybe the hood too. If it doesn't fit quite right then Haglofs/ME have some rather similar things. As no doubt do others!

Fit wise, I'm bang on a 40" chest and a medium fits really well. Enough room for a base layer and light fleece underneath. The hood is a helmet compatible one so, quite large, but has all the adjusters necessary to bring it close to the head
