just purchased a pair of these from go outdoors, i ad to send back my mammut sierra gtx as even 2nd pair leaked , so while on 15% off everything i bought these salomons for £121 less 15% at the time but £121 again now.

straight away they fit like a glove, supportive but not tight, locking lace eyes work well too, i found them a little uncomfortable when lace to the top but i never lace that high normal so its fine.

so far they seem completley waterproof as gtx should be and the tread offers fantastic grip of wet grass as well as rocks.

sole firm enough to give support but also flexible enough to be easy on steep scrambles too.

all in all. seem like best boots i have owned so far.

will post again in few months with update, hope this helps.

ok, me again, just worn these boots up pyg track on wednesday in very warm sunshine.. boots really comfy, supportive and not a blister in sight, these dont need any breaking in at all, of up cnicht on sat in predicted thunder storm so i may pop back and let you know just how waterproof they really are.... or are not even.

They are good boots, but you payed top dollar for them, so they should be.

Go-Outdoors aren't cheap, they just try and make there prices look cheap.

I know you can get the 4D GTX for roughly £107 quid which are even better.

I bought these and wore them for a couple of weeks doing some easy low level walks. The stitching went and I returned them for another pair.  When I first put them on I was reminded of another pair of salomon gtx boots a few years ago. The ankles took some pain before they became wearable. Granted I was wearing thin nylon socks and walking around the house, but it was still a shock. The other difficuty I found was that the insoles are useless as my soles became very tough and a bit sorre after a few wears. No pain, no gain once more came to mind. I really did not find them as comfortable straight from the box as others apparently did. They generally have good grip but dont do very well on muddy hills and you have to be very careful. I am really hoping that the first pair were faulty and that they are more robust. I got them from field and trek for a decent price - £95. Wull
