Does Anyone Know Where I Can Buy Hydrogen Peroxide For Getting Rid Of Mould Off A Cotton Canvas Tent, Does It Come Under A Brand Name? Also What Strength Should One Purchase For The Job ?

Many Thanks If You Can Help Me. Kevin

Avoid High Test Peroxide (99+%). You will get too much attention from the law!

I would try a Chemist such as Boots and go for 50 or 100 vol if they sell it that strong.

max you're likely to get from boots is 9%, whatever vol that is. more likely 3%.

even 3% will get rid of mould, it just takes a bit longer.

the stuff is great for degunging toothbrush heads and keeping the mould down, dilute as a mouthwash that has the added bonus of whitening yer teeth. sterilising tootbrushes and cleaning jewellery.

bells or care are two brands but it's not necessary to know that, just ask for hydrogen peroxide.

http://www.nikwax.com/en-gb/activity/index.php?activity=OUTDOORS  A pal of mine had the same problem, but used a Nikwax cleaner instead and the canvas tent came out ok after that. He then washed in another Nikwax cotton canvas wash product to reproof the tent fabric again. All done in a couple of hours or so, then the big tent went out to dry off in the sunshine. Of course, it does depend on how bad the mildew is, and how much of it there is set into the fabric.

My contact lens solution is mainly 3% hydrogen peroxide, presume that might work...

I've used Miltons Steriling Fluid (diluted) to get rid of mould/mildew off mine but you must reproof the area after the mould/mildew has been removed and it's dried.

I have a large gazebo roof which has many patches due to wear but now i'm getting small holes in the fabric probably because it is 6 years old.  Can anyone give me advice on how I can repair and reinforce the fabric? ?  Is there a spray that will seal the holes or recoat the fabric?  I can't find anyone who will make me a new roof.  The fabric is becoming easier to tear and I am afraid after one more year it will tear too much

Welcome to the forum there Jackie. But I'm not sure we are necessarily the right forum to answer that question here for you there sadly! Maybe a caravanning forum might be better able to help you perhaps? Those souls there are more needing to know how to mend such things perhaps? We are more camping and backpacking tents here essentially. What type of fabric is it though, do you know please? Most fabrics you have two options with I guess, repair after removal from where it is, or try to fix more patches with it in place. If the fabric is tearing that easy though it does really sound as though the whole thing might well need replacement. If it has been out in all weathers for extended periods then that could be the case, as extended sun and cold damage can play havoc with most fabrics sadly. There are sprays to redo the proofing of the fabric outer yes, but not too to seal tears and holes in the fabric as well. It does rather just sound as though it is getting near the end of its useful life anyways I fear.

we have a blue canvas gazebo, which has faded badly, and wonder if anyone can tell us where to get a product to restore the colour, and [rotect it?

Don't know about restoring colour, but you can get canvas reproofers from the like of Nikwax.
