To Buff or not to Buff

You wash your buff?! I use mine for nearly everything, but my only complaint it that they can smell after a bit (6hours of wear!). You'll find yourself longing for the rain to wash it for you!!!!!!!

Get a Buff Ian, they're great. Like someone said earlier if you're thin on top they stop sunburn in the summer and keep you warm in winter. Who cares if they look silly, I've yet to see anyone wearing a sensible looking hat on a mountain.

BTW Aldi often do their own version in muted colours for about £3 when they sell walking gear.

After seeing mine, my daughter is now desperate for her own buff, but for some reason she keeps calling it a muff.

Obviously Weird Darren is so called because he doesn't like Buffs like a normal person.

Get a Buff or 2 or 3! I've got 2 and my wife has a Thermal one. Can't beat them - you can even use them as a Hankie!!

Bought a nice one muted colours. It'll give my mate a laugh tomorrow. Who knows I may even chnage my OM photo to one of me wearing it.

they are evil and make people look silly, either like a person badly impersonating Johnny Depp from the Pirate movies, or one of those old sea side postcards with the english man and his hanky hat.

Buffs are dead useful. I have 3 normal and one polar one. Great for stopping the wind blowing down my neck, keeping my hair out of my face, and the polar one when used with a fleecy hat, makes a great balaclava (as I found out on the winter skills course last weekend).

I tried to find a balaclava to fit me, but all I could find were kids ones (too small, and no free cord for my mitts) or "one size fits all" ones, which are massive. Does this mean Oot's head is massive??? ;o)

WD- you and Oot will have to be the token non Buffers I suspect.

There was a question some hours ago that went unanswered - no, they don't shrink in a 40degree wash. Wear it, chuck it in the machine, dangle it over a radiator, and hey presto it's dry before your Rohans and you can put it on again while it's still warm...

They're also good as wrist-warmers (doubled over) if you happen to have Raynaud's or just cold wrists. 2 matching? Nah, much too conventional.

I'm at home today, decorating and have had to fill various holes in the wall. When it came to sanding them down my Buff made a super face mask keep fime polyfiller dust out the nose and lungs.
