My MYOG tarp

This is my spinnaker tarp, I am posting this so people can see what's achievable for an hours work and less than ten quids worth of materials. You could spend more time and more money and have a better finished product but I am cheap individual and inpatient too

The material is spinnaker and cost me £5 ish including postage for a 2.2m X1.5m sheet.

The weight shown includes six pegs, 4 guys, bag, and the home made extend-able pole.

A trailstar it aint, but I'm happy enough with it, just need to use the bugger now.

Just out of interest, why Tripe?

Just to be clear how rough it is, I'm not trying to claim it's a masterpiece, plus I like to use the word tripe where possible even if it's not particularly relevant.

Sorry for any incongruity.

Is that a walking pole leaning against the radiator?

If so, why not use that instead of custom made extendable pole?

The tarp looks good

Great for that cost, Simo.

I used a similar set up in some pretty rough conditions. You may find you'll need a few more staking points to keep it on the ground.

Yes it is Nick, I haven't really taken to using walking poles yet although my knees are starting to creak a bit on descents

I wanted to make a pole to see how light I could make the set up, the walking pole is 250g heavier. If I did use poles it would be the obvious choice, a lot more robust and doubles as a walking pole too in reality though it would spend all day on my pack.
