Looking for a cheap coated aluminium mug for solo use 500ml - 750ml, as I don't want to pay £££'s for titanium. Can't find anything online. Any ideas?

I was going to recommend the Blacks equivalent to the Coleman set.  But it seems that Blacks no longer stock it; must have been too good a product for them...

FWIW, I went to a titanium one after breaking a plastic one in Sweden in 2010.  I was pissed (our first night on a long trail: drinking lots reduced my pack weight...) and the mug was weakened by too much whisky over the years.  I trod on it and that, sadly, was that - it shattered into very many horribly sharp pieces.

So I thought the titanium one would be ideal, but it's not.  It's actually heavier than the plastic one and it spoils hot drinks as I burn my lips.  So I've gone back to another plastic one from Taunton Leisure, making sure not to use it for whisky.  Dirt cheap, just a tad under 3/4 pint.  Can just squeeze oatcake packs inside.  Perfect.  You may find such a thing useful instead of the aluminium?

I too use a plastic one, think it was 99p from Asda, technically it's not a cup just a storage vessel but it works well, especially as it has a lid, there's no handle but i've never felt the need for one, in fact i'd cut it off if there were.

I use a cheap plastic Lidl one. Much lighter than any metal mug. -Comes in 4 colours so we (mum, dad +2 kids) can each have our own cups and not worry about unnecessary washing up.

Regarding the plastic mugs, I want it to cook on.

Thanks for the heads up on the primus and coleman mini kits. I got the primus eta express pot and minus the lid its only about 50g heavier than the Primus AluTech 0.6L Pot but has the heat exchanger fins.

Am trying to find the individual weights for the coleman pots but haven't had much luck yet.
