I am looking for a supplier of quite small (UK size 1-2)
leather walking boots. They are needed for a 6 week
expedition to Alaska, so would need to be quite
sturdy. Does anyone know of any UK suppliers?

Try looking up manufactures on the web and finding one who makes them that small (someone might). Then ring them direct and ask where the nearest stockist is. That stockist will be able to order them.

Or kids shoes? HiTec do a kids (sizes 12-3) leather walking boot, which was quite nice while I was selling them last summer (hard to try out though). I also has a friend who with insoles and thick socks made some La Sportivas fit her size 2 feet (properly, too), but I can't remember the model.

Don't buy Hi-Tech!!! Sorry if there are any Hi-Tech people about to reply to this comment, but don't! I bought the Horizons, and wore them around for a while (about 4 months), so they'd be 'broken in', but when I did my C2C walk I had blisters from day 2! I did it in 12 days!
I later found out two main reasons. They weren't waterproof, (well technically they were, but only for about 1 hour), and also when someone took out the insole (which is wafer thin), the sole had a criss-cross structure under the material. The kind of thing you get in cheap Nike-Air look-alikes. I would always recommend against Hi-Tech's now.

I had similar problems with a pair of Hi Tech 'trail' boots that I bought right at the beginning of their launch into the 'outdoor' market.
They were rubbish no other word for it.
Hi tech have got a lot of ground to make up with me before I give them any more money

You do realise that they don't have any waterproofness to them doncha? I am not going to sell 'em, and definately not buy 'em.
