I haven't checked everywhere on their site, but it seems a lot of the stuff I'm interested in (light-weight) seems to be 'out of stock'. Just wanted to know if anyone knows anything.

Maybe they're going tits up I wonder? Anyway, I've emailed them, but no reply as yet.

Cheers.

They moved out of a bricks and mortar unit in Keswick a while ago to concentrate on their web business, but I think they need to concentrate a bit harder. They give the impression they mean well and their product range is interesting, but they need to get their act together a bit imo.

At least you can see they have no stock - I've ordered a tent at three different places this week only to find out the day after they don't have any in stock.....

Fully agree with the comment above from Belgian_Hiker, can be rather frustrating to think you have found that bargain item of kit you have been searching for only to later find out it is out of stock.

Be interesting to find out their response to your email teflon.

Hi, it's Ian from Winwood Outdoor. Having a bit of trouble getting in the lightweight gear from the US. We've placed an order with our US suppliers but many of our usual products are out of stock with them. Also shipping costs are so expensive now, which means most of the low value bulky items, like the insulation and sleep pads, will be too expensive to import. We'll try and get what we can, and don't worry we're not going 'tits up'

Sorry 'Teflon Nonstick' we've replied to all our emails, if you haven't had a reply could you let me know the email address you sent the message to and the date, thanks.

Thanks everyone for your patience.

Never doubted your solvency. There are a few other UL retailers who have low stocks too. Still miss your store in Keswick centre. I don't think its been filled so the landlords shot themselves in the foot with the rent increase that IIRC helped you with the decision to move into online only. Not the only one to make that move so I reckon you'd have done that anyway sooner or later.

Glad to see you're still going strong if low on UL stock. Reminds me, what lightweight groundsheet stuff do you have in stock? I want something to protect my TAR mat which I currently use inside a simple bivvy but thinking better to have it outside but need something between mat and ground. Especially if I end up with an airbed style mat sooner or later. Can't really fit it in the bivvy as it stretched the quilt and bivvy out so it compresses the down and I get cold spots. Taking the mat out of the bivvy will sort this.

I miss having the shop as well, but Keswick was getting a bit, well a lot, expensive. We have the polycro groundsheet coming but we have to wait for the GG rucksacks to come into stock as well so we can get them shipped over all together. I'm being vague again about timescales, but it will hopefully be this month.

Just to say that Winwood have now supplied my Golite tent, so stocks are arriving.

Despite the delays, service was good.

Thanks Ian. I phoned, and though the nice girl offered to put my name down I hadn't yet decided, so I'll just keep an eye open.

I actually forgot about this thread, though I'm glad to hear things might be moving.

I phoned Winwood about an out of stock item, just on the off chance. Glad I did as they put me on a 'list' and phoned me back when the next order was due. I didn't have to wait long, item arrived pronto, and cheaper than elsewhere. Win:win.
Great service.
