That's a rather nice unexpected bonus then! Got to love Terra Nova, I really regret selling my Laser Competition a couple of years ago.

Hello - is this post still running..??

I have the opportunity to but a zephyros 2 for £10 - it's missing the poles though, does anyone know if I can get the poles or can you tell me does it take three small poles and one major pole?
Thanks very much
Roger.

The Zephyros is a single hoop tent. It has only one alloy pole and also has two small fibreglass poles that are built into the ends of the tent. I'd try contacting Terra Nova and ask them if you can purchase the poles.

The owners' manual says that Terra Nova "maintain a comphrensive stock of spare parts" so I suggest you give them a ring and see how much a set of poles is (www.terra-nova.co.uk or 01773 837373).

I can't believe they can be that expensive, so £10 sounds like  bargain...

Went around some shops today and asked their advice then rang them today and the poles will be £76, so i'm going to just get the tent and probably use dowels for the end rods and find a cheaper alternative for the main pole.

Blimey - that's a ripoff! You can a whole new tent for another £15!!

Hi all,

New to the forum!  I'm considering purchasing a Zephyros 1 tent, but have one query which I have been unable to find a clear answer on!

With this tent is it possible to pitch it outer first and add the inner in later?  Considering this tent for a multi day route in Scotland.

Thanks.

You can, although I haven't tried it. It's probably quite a faff as the end poles are attached to both the inner and outer.  I think it's one of those "It's possible, but why would you want to" things.

New Zephyros 1 & 2 lite's on the way look cracking more like the terra nova laser with yellow inners should be cheap to hopefully only 1.35g for the 2lite
I'll be having that wen its available

Seems to be

Yup. But it's a bit fiddly. I find it easier to carry it and pitch it 'as one'.

Maybe this is a silly question...

Whats the little orange stick for? Is it incase one of the poles breaks whilst you're on the hills?

You mean the length of gold-coloured anodised aluminium tube? As you guessed, that is a temporary splint to repair the main pole if it gets damaged.

Saw the Zephyros on sale in Blacks (Reading)* for £60 at the weekend, for you Zephyros fans...  Can't see it at that price on their website, though.

* or was it (bizarrely) Millets?

Terra nova just emailed with prices bit expensive I think
When u can get a laser comp ??199 delivered

Zephyros 1Lite 1.25kg ??180
Zephyros 2Lite 1.40kg ??210

Your pounds (sterling) character seems to have printed as ??? (assuming you mean that the Zeph Lites are £180 and £210)

Given the Zephyros was initially marketed as the budget version of the Laser Comp, that does indeed seem a bit steep. It's certainly more than I'd pay to shave off half a kilogram.

PS: to get a pounds symbol in the universal ASCII character set, key in Alt +156

This thread seems to have reinvigorated itself this week

So I'll mention that I spent three nights in my Zeph 2 car-camping at a music festival last weekend. It was the first time I've pitched it in pitch darkness on rough ground aided only by a headtorch - in the morning it looked about as tautly and tidily tent-like as a discarded rubbish bag but at least it kept the dew off me

Hopefully be getting a 2 soon, just researching to find the best price.

Thinking of getting a Zephyros 2. I'm guessing they're pretty good...seen decent reviews of it and like the wieght.

Also where is the cheapest you've managed to get it? Sports Direct for £120 is the cheapest I've seen so far...

Just googled it and Nevisport have it for £100 and I'm guessing Go outdoors would beat it by 10% again?
