The 2009 event entries are now open and details are on the site..

Here we go again..!!

Information for training / recce days is now available on the sight, over the next 10 months we intend to recce all of the course, each of the recces will be lead by the original course planners. There is a fee which will be used to hire coaches / minibus etc to transport people to the start of each day, maps will be provided.

Even if you aren't doing the event, these will be great point to point socail days and there is bound to be people of similar speeds for you to team up with.

Marc,

Are the 2008 results correct? I know that I have asked this before but the results page hasn't changed and there are a couple of 5hr+ legs which I don't recall!?!

Also, I am trying to see if the UTMB organisers will confirm what rating they will give to the two events - have you decided if you are going to credit L100 runners who made it past 52m checkpoint but didn't finish, with a L50m finish. If they decide that the 50 milers is harder than races like Thames Meander (which it is!) they might just give it 2 points and 3/4 for the L100. This would see me home!!

I will have to see if i can get a pink ticket for any of the training weekends!

Cheers

Chris

p.s. you mentioned that some of the sponsors pulled out at the last minute this year. Can you confirm who actually sponsored the event this year. I have already bought kit from Lakes Runner since the event and would like to support the other sponsors.

Mark

Glad that the event  continues, especially with the very useful sounding training days.  It would be good to know what UTMB rating the L50 and L100 should get.

Thanks

Some of the splits were wrong and we basically had some bad timings for certain legs. I'm mainly concerned about the overall results being correct but if you know any specific leg timings for yourself i can adjust them.

Everyone who did the first 50 miles has been credited with the 50 miles but with regards to UTMB i don't have any response with regards to how many points it's worth. I think they may well be changing their points system and how people qualify over the next 12 months. From their perspective they can't possibly know how difficult every event in the uk or any other country actually is so they face a difficult task awarding accurate points. I think you will have to wait and see what happens over next 12 months with regards to qualification, i have emailed the organisers regarding current points allocation and will let you know if anything arises!
