Hi I am walking for the first time in the lakes, I am ok navigating using a map and compass and will be taking a 12 mile walk approx in early April.

I am fairly fit and find normal fell walking no problem, but first walk in the Lakes.

I'm open to suggestions which I take on, but very limited scrambling grade 1 only.

I will be accompanied by very experienced walker.

What do recommend?

12 miles gies you a few options, Fairfield Horseshoe is good, or Helellyn ia Striding edge and then Dollywagon pike, Nethermost  Pike, and then St sunday Crag.

Kentmere Horshoe up to high street?

If you click on this link and scroll down there is a spread sheet you can download that breaks the wainwrights down in to circulars. You will get some good ideas on there.

 hill bagging

then you can record them on here if you are sad like me.

I'd second the Fairfield Horseshoe - and if you're feeling fine on the day you can extend it to take in St. Sunday crag as well. It's easy to find as you can start it in Ambleside, so no parking issues (apart from the cost!)

Fairfield Horseshoe is a good walk whether extended or not, as Mick w. says, parking is plentiful.
